"Dress to Express":

Friday 5th February

Friday 5th February was 'dress to express' day. Children at home and those in school as key workers dressed in their favourite clothes or fancy dress costume to express themselves. Other children decided to take part in an activity expressing themselves which was also captured on camera. Have a look at the wide variety of outfits and images of the children expressing themselves on the slide show below.

When the teachers told me that you had all been asked to 'dress to express' in a favourite outfit or something that made you happy, I thought about what makes me happy.  Could it be my favourite football shirt? Well, I do love watching Cambridge United play but I can't honestly say it makes me happy very often (those of you who support a football team will know exactly what I mean!)

So what makes me happiest of all? A day in the sun on a beach of course! Ok, so we're not allowed to actually go anywhere like that at the moment, so I thought I would 'dress to express' by getting ready for a holiday.  Here I am arriving at school this morning:

It is a bit colder in Stapleford than Spain though...

Wellbeing Dogs!

The teachers have told me they have seen lots of your origami dogs during your class Zoom calls.  Did you enjoy making them? What a great way to express yourselves!  Here are some super pictures of your dogs that I was sent:

Children's Mental Health Week Assemblies:

Enjoyed watching my assembly yesterday? Click here for a virtual assembly from the charity Place2be about Children's Mental Health Week. There may be a few people from CBBC and Dr Who that you might recognise! If you haven't watched my assembly yet, check it out below!

To begin our work for Children's Mental Health Week, here is my special assembly:

Click here for a video message regarding Mental Health from HRH The Duchess of Cambridge - Kate Middleton. She has recorded this especially for Children's Mental Health Week 2021.

For more information regarding Children's Mental Health Week click here for the Place2be website.

With schools partially closed and lots of uncertainty, children and young people’s mental health has never been more important. There are a range of resources on our school’s website to explore mental health and well-being; whether this is regarding your child’s/children’s or your own mental health and well-being.
